On Tuesday 10th July Class 3 were able to spend part of their morning looking around the beautiful gardens at Narborough Hall to support our learning in Science. We were delighted to be able to see such a variety of flowering plants and have the opportunity to collect so many examples to bring back into class for dissection!
Thank you to Tyrone's mum and aunt for arranging this wonderful experience for us!
"We snipped and collected beautiful flowers for science ... then we walked through the temperate deciduous forest!" (Callum Forster Y4)
"When we walked up the small hill Tyrone saw a blue dragonfly!" (Harry Bacon Y3)
"We collected flowers and parts of plants from the blue, white, purple and woodland garden ... in the woodland area there was a house which looked like Mr Tumnus' house ... we had a whale of a time!" (Riley Allan Y4)
"Today at Narborough Hall my group collected lavender flowers, lots of different seed heads, helicopter [sycamore] leaves, ox-eyed daises, love in the mist and lots more!" (William Hogbin Y4)
"We cut the flowers in half and labelled what we saw ... the stem, the seed head and petals." (Caiden Marshall Y4)
"Today we went to Narborough Hall and snipped parts of the flowers - the stem, leaves, flower heads and seeds. We found beautiful and lovely plants. Some smelt excellent and some not so nice, they were all so different." (Casey Stoner Y4)
