This week we have been very busy getting to grips with our new Science and Geography topics! The children have been able to make some excellent cross curricular connections between the water cycle and key features of rivers - with some great drama pieces re-creating the sequence of the water cycle.
In maths we have been focussing on properties of shape and in particular angles. The children spent some time using the school playground to identify right angles, acute angles and obtuse angles! With some interesting finds!
In English we have been comparing different explanation texts - How is honey made? How does a caterpillar become a butterfly? and What happens to our recycling? We were also delighted to be able to host a World Book Day reading cafe during which we read some of our whole class text Journey to the River Sea.
An exciting and interesting week finished with our guest Mrs Houlder-Moat joining us for our Religious Studies learning to tell us about the sponsored walk she will be doing to raise money for Shelter Box.
