Years 5/6 Keystage 2
Welcome to class 4! This year, we will be working really hard, but having lots of fun too!
In class 4, pupils are expected to read at home every day. An adult or an older sibling needs to write a comment in their reading record at least three times a week to say that they have heard them read. Weekly spellings are given out on a Monday. Pupils are provided with a book to practice their spellings, which needs to be returned to school every day.
A weekly task related to our topic is handed out on a Friday. Children can choose which piece of homework to complete each week. This needs to be completed and returned the following Tuesday. Pupils should spend approximately 30 minutes on this piece of homework. A copy of the homework is attached below.
I asked the pupils to think about what they enjoy about being in class 4, and here are some of the things they said:
"We like the fact that we can run lunchtime clubs." See lunchtime clubs page for more details.
"We always persevere."
"We like the fact that if we are stuck, we get help."
"We made our own learning contract to make sure everyone is learning all the time."
"We know that mistakes are good because it helps our brain grow."
"We have fun."
"We are always positive."
