Today I would like you to look at creating a journey plan to visit the Amazon Rainforest.  I would like you to use the Internet and/or atlases to tell me how you would get to the forest.  You can record the journey in whichever way you would like.  It might be a series of pictures like a train to London, then a plane to Paris, then a Motorbike to Nice… or bullet points in a list…or instructions… You can be as creative as possible, the only rule is that your journey has to travel through at least four Countries and three Continents… Remember you will start at Narborough school so you already have one Country and one Continent.

What will I need to know to complete this journey?

Do I know where the Amazon Rainforest is?

Do I know what a Country is?

Do I know what a Continent is?

Can I access and use a map or globe of the world to help me?

There is a document below of map images to help you if you need it.

Cross Curricular Work:

Create a painting/drawing/collage/image/digital image of an animal found in a Rainforest.

There is a sheet with some options on if it helps.

Using books, the Internet and by conversations with friends and family, write either a paragraph or a list of bullet points describing what a Rainforest is.  Think about what it would feel like to be in a rainforest? What kind of things would you see, smell and hear?  And try to locate at least two places in the world which have Rainforests.

I have attached a word search - do not worry if you are unable to print and complete, please just take a look at some of the words - what do they mean?  Are there any you need to investigate?  Below is a link to a short video to introduce you to some of the key features which might be useful if you are able to watch it.
